The Golden Guernsey cow is renowned across the globe as a leading specialist dairy breed and produces unique golden coloured milk, high in protein, butterfat and beta-carotene. Research reveals that the Guernsey cow is a milk producing marvel: this easy tempered beast lives longer than most other breeds, has the lowest incidence of calving difficulties, is popular for cross breeding and her milk and cheese quality is second to none. The high quality of the produce is helped by the fact that the farms cows are subject to the highest
welfare standards the day they are born. They eat only home grown grass and grain so you can be sure it is 100% natural and fresh.
What makes the Guernsey Cow world famous:
- Docility, efficiency, grazing ability, adaptability to hot and cold climates, early maturity, easy calving and longevity.
- Guernsey milk is noted for its high quality, containing 12% more protein, 30% more cream, 33% more vitamin D, 25% more vitamin A and 15% more calcium than ‘standard’ milk.
- The rich golden colour of Guernsey milk is due to a high content of Beta Carotene. Guernsey milk has a unique and attractive taste and mouthfeel.
- 96% of Guernseys produce milk containing the protein Beta Casein A2. There is evidence that this may better for the health and digestion of some people.
